What is Easter?

Easter is a holiday that celebrates the prophecy fulfillment of the Messiah.  In Christianity, this date remarks the resurrection of Jesus 3 days after his crucifixion.

Easter happens on a Sunday that comes after the first full moon when the sun positioned exactly above the Equator. This usually falls at the end of March or the beginning of April where Spring officially started.

Easter Symbols:

Easter bunny – Symbolizes fertility, and rebirth, same as for the Spring that symbolizes growth and regeneration.

Easter Eggs – Symbolizes life. When colored in red it represents the blood of Jesus or when decorated it represents the Spring.

Easter Basket – Symbolizes the Catholic custom of bringing food to the mass for the blessing.

Easter Lamb – Jesus represents the lamb as the agent of God for which he sacrificed himself to redeem men.

Butterfly – Symbolizes the life cycle of Christ, the caterpillar, the cocoon and the butterfly, 3 stages against 3 days.
